Omega Chicken Burger

America’s favourite sandwich has come a long way. From roadside diners on Route 66 to global domination brought to you by huge fast food chains. The burger is now truly international. But the journey is far from over. Today you’ll find gourmet burger joints popping up all over Malaysia, serving mouth-watering burgers to adoring crowds. The old idea that burgers were greasy heart stoppers is out of date, too. If the right ingredients are used, cooked the right way, a burger can be a really healthy snack. This chicken burger recipe is our contribution to the healthy cause.

Let’s talk ingredients. Our chicken burger recipe has three essentials: QL Omega eggs, Figo Chicken Slices and burger buns. QL Omega eggs come from healthy chickens given all-natural feed 100% free from artificial chemicals or preservatives. The eggs contain 50% less cholesterol than standard eggs and are boosted with extra omega-3. Figo Chicken Slices are made from high quality chicken meat lightly seasoned with onion and black pepper. The protein content of the Figo Chicken Slices is much higher than standard slices because of its surimi (a healthy fish protein) content, which means you will be fuller for longer. The type of burger buns you use is a personal choice.

4QL Omega eggs
4 pieces Figo Chicken Slices
4burger buns (wholemeal for the healthy choice), halved
4 pieceslettuce, washed
1medium tomato, sliced
Butter or margarine, for spreading
Dressing (tomato sauce, chili sauce, mustard or mayonnaise)
Cooking oil for frying eggs/chicken slices
Ground black pepper


  1. Heat 1 tablespoon cooking oil in a non-stick pan on medium-low heat, crack an egg and fry the egg until the egg whites are set but the yolk is still runny. Turn off heat and remove the fried egg with a spatula to a plate and leave aside. Repeat with the remaining eggs, add cooking oil if necessary before frying the next egg.
  2. Fry Figo Chicken Slices in the non-stick pan with 1 teaspoon of cooking oil until brown. Remove from pan and leave aside.
  3. Spread butter or margarine on the bottom part of the bun. Arrange tomato slices, lettuce, Figo Chicken Slices on the bun. Spread dressing on the chicken slices and top with fried egg. Sprinkle ground black pepper on the egg and cover with the top side of the bun. Serve immediately.

  • You can fry the egg in a round metal mould to get a bun-ready rounded shape.
