Totoro Pull-Apart Bun

Ingredients

Dough:
250 gbread flour
60 gplain flour
60 gsugar
8 gyeast
60 gbutter
100 mlmilk
55 gwater
25 gQL Omega Egg (use the remaining as egg wash)
Totoro’s Eyes:
50 gwhite fondant
40 gchocolate, melted
Icing sugar

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, add in QL Omega Egg and the rest of the dough ingredients. Knead well till dough is formed. Cling wrap the bowl and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  2. Divide the dough into 12 balls of 50 g and shape it for Totoro’s body while the remaining for Totoro’s ear. Shape the remaining dough into small ball and attach it to the bigger dough for Totoro's ear.
  3. Grease the pan with butter before placing 6 Totoro in a chiffon cake mould. Cover with cling wrap and let the dough proof for 20 minutes.
  4. Egg wash the doughs using QL Omega Egg and bake in pre-heated oven at 160°C for 15-20 minutes. Set aside to cool.
  5. After the bread has cooled down, spread on icing sugar for Totoro's tummies.
  6. Roll out white fondant for Totoro’s eyes. Pipe melted chocolate for the rest of the details.
