Steamed Gula Melaka Pudding (Ma Lai Gao)

Preparation time: 75 minutes
Cooking time: 30 - 35 minutes
Makes: 1 tin


4QL Deli Fresh egg
½ tspsalt
340 ggula melaka
80 gwater
320 gflour
½ tspbaking soda
1½ tspyeast
320 gsantan
40 gbutter, melted


  1. Melt B in microwave and let it cool. Strain and set aside.
  2. Beat A until fluffy then drizzle in B and continue to beat till it becomes pale in colour.
  3. Fold in C followed by D. Mix well.
  4. Pour into a tin and let it rest for 1 hour.
  5. Steam for 30 minutes or until cooked.
