Crispy rolls – or popiah – make for a super tasty treat. Today we bring you 2-for-1 recipes: Crispy Seaweed Rolls and Crispy Sugar Rolls. Yum!
Crispy Seaweed Rolls
These crispy seaweed snacks are so addictive! Be sure to make a lot as once you try them you’ll cannot stop! Store immediately in air-tight containers once they have cooled so that they are at their crunchiest after frying.
Crispy Sugar Rolls
Layers of popiah skin are formed into rolls for this feather-light crispy snack. After deep-frying, spread out on paper towels to remove excess oil and leave to cool before dusting with castor sugar. Store immediately in air-tight containers once they are done.

Method
- Crispy Seaweed Rolls: Place a sheet of seaweed directly on top of a sheet of Figo Popiah Skin. Starting from one end, roll up the seaweed and popiah skin together. Seal the end by brushing the edge of the roll with QL Deli Fresh egg white and lightly pressing the edge to the roll. Repeat with the remaining popiah skins and seaweed.
- Using a pair of scissors, diagonally cut the rolls into 2 cm pieces.
- Deep fry the seaweed rolls on medium heat until golden in colour. Cool and store in an air-tight container.
- Crispy Sugar Rolls: Roll up a sheet of Figo Popiah Skin into a roll, sealing the end by brushing the edge of the roll with QL Deli Fresh egg white and lightly pressing the edge to the roll. Repeat with the remaining popiah skins.
- Using a pair of scissors, diagonally cut the rolls into 2 cm pieces.
- Deep fry the rolls on medium heat until golden in colour. Drain and leave to almost cool. Toss lightly in castor sugar. Store in an air-tight container.
